Our own shop is switched off for now.
We aren’t selling anything ourselves at the moment. Everything you can buy through FarmerKnowsNothing is sold on other companies’ well-known websites — we line the prices up in Compare Deals and send you to the seller, who takes the payment on their own secure checkout.
FarmerKnowsNothing is a farming community and a price-comparison site for everyone who works — or wants to work — the land. Our Compare Deals pages line up tractors, quad bikes, trailers, fencing and second-hand kit across the auctions and marketplaces farmers already use, biggest kit first, with the seller’s feedback beside the price. And alongside that, our forums cover just about every corner of farming, from your first two hens to a full working farm.
The name is a promise as much as a joke: nobody is born knowing this stuff. Ask anything, however basic, and someone who has done it before will answer without making you feel daft.
What we actually do
- Compare listings from well-known auction and marketplace websites in one list, ordered by price plus postage where the site states it.
- Show each seller’s record beside the price, and what other members thought of the site itself.
- Run a moderated community across livestock, crops, machinery, land, rules and money, with question-and-answer forums where the best answer is marked.
- Publish free tools and guides — a stocking calculator, an acres-to-hectares converter, a gestation calendar, a plain-English glossary, and our pages on agroecology, resources, projects, events and farm safety.
- Keep an opt-in Farmers Unite directory so farms can be found — only ever with the farmer’s say-so.
- Give straight answers — no jargon and no upselling.
Where you actually buy
Everything you can buy through the links on this site is sold on other companies’ own websites — well-known auction and marketplace sites that run their own secure checkout and have their own buyer-protection rules. You click through and buy direct from the seller. We never take or hold your money, and we don’t inspect or guarantee any item or seller, so always check the seller’s page before you buy. The details are in our terms.
What we do not compare
We do not compare live animals, and we do not compare prescription-only veterinary medicines or restricted crop-protection products. Talk to your vet or a qualified adviser for those. The forums are for advice and experience, not a substitute for professional help.
Who is behind the site
