We aren’t selling anything ourselves at the moment. Everything you can buy through FarmerKnowsNothing is sold on other companies’ well-known websites — we line the prices up in Compare Deals and send you to the seller, who takes the payment on their own secure checkout.
1. Who we are and these terms
This website is operated by The Balance Wheel LTD, trading as FarmerKnowsNothing. By using this website you agree to these terms of use and to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
2. Our own shop
Our own shop is switched off for now. We are not taking orders and we are not selling goods to you. If it reopens, terms of sale will be published here before we take a single order, and they will apply to that order. Anything you buy through a link on this site is bought from the seller on their own website (see section 3), not from us.
3. Auction and marketplace comparisons
Our "Compare deals" pages show listings from other auction sites, marketplaces and classified-advert sites so you can see them side by side. We are an information service only. We are not the seller, the buyer, an agent for either, or a party to any sale. We never take or hold your money, we do not check, inspect or guarantee any item, seller or listing, and if you buy something you do so from the seller, on their site, under that site's own terms and protections. Any dispute is between you and them.
Listings reach us in one of three ways, and each page says which: live from a site's own official service (for example eBay's), entered by a member of our staff after looking at the listing and dated, or not at all — in which case we only link to that site's own search. Nothing is copied from a site that does not permit it. Prices, bids and end times are shown as last fetched or checked and can change, or the listing can end, before you look; an auction shows its current bid, not what it will sell for. Always confirm the price, condition, postage and seller on the seller's own page before you buy.
Results are ordered highest price first by default (price plus postage where the site states it) and you can change the order, for example to cheapest first. Some links are affiliate links: if you buy after clicking one we may earn a commission from that site, at no extra cost to you. This never changes how results are ordered or which listings are shown. Where a page carries such links it says so.
Seller feedback figures come from the site the listing is on and are theirs, not ours. The reviews and testimonials of sites are opinions of our members, based on their own experience. We check reviews against our community rules before showing them and do not pay for, write or edit them, but we cannot verify that any opinion is accurate, and it is not our view. If you believe a review is false or unlawful, tell us through the contact form and we will look at it promptly. Members are responsible for what they write.
Other sites' names and marks belong to their owners and are used only to say where a listing is; we are not affiliated with or endorsed by them (eBay is a trademark of eBay Inc.). We do not compare live animals or prescription-only medicines. Take sensible care when buying second-hand machinery and vehicles: check ownership paperwork and the seller's identity, be wary of prices that seem too good to be true, and report anything you suspect is stolen to the police. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss caused by relying on a listing, price or review shown on another site or in a comparison; nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
4. What we do not sell or compare
We do not sell or compare live animals, prescription-only veterinary medicines, or crop-protection products that require a certificate of competence to buy or use. Any advice given in our forums, guides or tools is general information from the community and not professional veterinary, legal, financial or agronomic advice — always check the current rules for your holding and consult a qualified professional where the stakes are high.
5. Community conduct
Use the forums respectfully. Do not post unlawful content, offer prescription medicines for sale, or advertise live animals in breach of the rules pinned in the marketplace forums. We may remove content and suspend accounts that break the rules.
6. Liability
We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
7. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
