Agri-Waste Take-Back

Our own shop is switched off for now.

We aren’t selling anything ourselves at the moment. Everything you can buy through FarmerKnowsNothing is sold on other companies’ well-known websites — we line the prices up in Compare Deals and send you to the seller, who takes the payment on their own secure checkout.

Farms generate a lot of packaging and worn-out kit, and it needs disposing of properly. This page is a short practical guide.

Electrical & electronic kit (WEEE)

Our free WEEE take-back is for electrical products we sell, so it is paused while our shop is off. Electric fence energisers, pumps, torches, clippers and chargers still must not go in the general bin: ask the retailer you bought the replacement from about taking the old one back, or use your local authority’s household waste recycling centre.

Batteries

Old batteries — from energisers, torches and trackers — must not go in the general bin. Use a battery-recycling point, which most supermarkets and household waste recycling centres have.

Farm plastics: wrap, twine, feed bags and drums

Silage and bale wrap, net wrap, twine, feed bags and empty drums are usually recycled through an approved agricultural-plastics collection scheme rather than through us. Keep it clean and dry, store it away from watercourses, and ask on the forums which local collection service other farmers use. Burning and burying farm waste is not permitted.

The crossed-out wheelie bin

This symbol on a product or its packaging means it must not be thrown in with general waste. Household users can also use their local authority's designated collection facilities.
